History
The journey of Knitronix began in 2010 driven by a simple yet ambitious vision: to transform how the world monitors large areas through
flexible distributed sensors. Our founders, Riccardo Marchesi (CEO), Lorenzo Marchesi (COO) and Manolo Abrignani (CBDO), a team of textile engineers and innovators,
recognized the limitations of traditional, rigid sensor technology, which restricted integration into complex or large-area applications.
The critical breakthrough came in 2012 with the development of our proprietary flexible conductive
knitting process. This innovation allowed us to seamlessly integrate sensing capabilities into durable, breathable textiles, overcoming challenges
related to mechanical fatigue and adaptability.
By 2017, Knitronix transitioned from a research-focused startup to an industrial scale manufacturer. We established a specialized production facility capable
of precision manufacturing. This expansion allowed us to significantly broaden our product portfolio to include specialized solutions
for occupancy sensing, pressure mapping, and liquid detection.
Today, Knitronix is recognized as a leader in distributed sensor technology. Our core commitment remains the same: to deliver reliable, adaptable,
and cost-competitive sensing solutions that reshape how industries monitor, control, and optimize their products and processes.
We continue to invest heavily in R&D to push the boundaries of smart fabric capabilities, ensuring our technology remains at the forefront of the
digital transformation.
